SERVE.
SERVE.
is an intentional and deliberate shift in our thinking. It is
service to our friends and neighbors throughout our communities.
It is not something more to add into our already hectic schedules, but
rather an adjustment in our thinking from one that is inward focused
to one that is outward. Sometimes it will take out way outside
of our comfort zones while other times it will only require you to
invite someone along with you to the grocery store. We all have
something to add to the value of another life.
This
time may be "formal" or "informal" and is
used for an endless variety of service opportunities, such as...
-
Baby
sitting for a single parent
-
Renovating
a family’s home
-
Hosting
an in-home local community group gathering
-
Taking
a co-worker out for coffee and offering a listening ear
-
Grocery
shopping for an elderly shut-in
-
Volunteering
for another non-profit organization
-
Eradicating
AIDS in Africa (if we don't dream big, we will never accomplish
big)
The
mission of SERVE. is simply to help raise awareness of needs within
our communities and inspire all to actively participate in assisting
with those needs. When this becomes everyone's lifestyle, all
needs will eventually be met.
If
you have any ideas for service opportunities, no matter how big or how
small, please connect with us and share them. Working together,
we hope to be the catalyst and vehicle that can encourage and support
your visions for transforming our communities and help make them a
realty. You can connect with One Sixty Eight at our Contact
page.
